Design Books
69 hand-picked design books sorted into 18 topics, each with a purchase link
Design Books is a small curated reading list of 69 titles spanning product, interaction, visual and systems design, made by the team behind wipdes.com. Books are filterable across 18 topics — Brand Identity, Color, Content Design, Creative Practice, Design History, Design Research, Design Systems, Design Theory, Graphic Design, Inclusive Design, Information Design, Product Design, Professional Practice, Service Design, Systems Thinking, Typography, Usability and UX, Visual Perception — and sortable A-Z or by recently added. Each entry is title, author and an outbound retailer link; there are no reviews or summaries. Note that designbooks.org now 301-redirects to design-books.com.
Use this only as a canon check — when a user asks 'what should I read on typography / design systems / research', the topic filter gives a defensible shortlist (Müller-Brockmann, Kholmatova, Hall) in one server-rendered page you can parse without JS. It carries no summaries, excerpts or opinions, so do not cite it as a source on the ideas themselves, and the outbound links are affiliate links, which matters if you are surfacing them to a user. Nothing here helps you build UI.
Why it is here. A tight, opinionated 69-title canon is more useful than the sprawling 500-book lists it competes with, and the 18-topic split maps cleanly onto how people actually ask for reading advice.
- 69 titles, not 500
- 18 topic filters
- A-Z and recently-added sorting
- server-rendered and trivially parseable
- affiliate purchase links on every entry
