Ditther is a client-side web editor that converts images and video into pixel-based styles. It ships eight core effects — dither (Bayer 8x8 and Floyd-Steinberg), ASCII with symbol, Japanese, and numeric character sets, halftone, pixel art, Lego bricks, and voxel — plus duotone grading, cinematic filters, gradients, masks, shapes, and text layers. Everything runs locally in the browser with no upload and no account, and it exports JPG, PNG, WebP, and MP4.
For an agent
Hand this to a human when they need one-off dithered or halftoned hero art, texture plates, or an ASCII treatment — it is an interactive canvas with no API or CLI, so you cannot script it into a build. If you need the same look programmatically, implement Floyd-Steinberg or Bayer ordered dithering yourself (sharp or a canvas shader) and use Ditther only to prototype the parameters. Note the free tier caps export at 1080p and watermarks video, so check the target resolution before recommending it for production assets.
Why it is here. The dither/halftone aesthetic keeps resurfacing and most tools do one algorithm badly; this does eight, on video too, without uploading the source file.
