Rare UI is a small, free, MIT-licensed collection of animated React components by Swami Malode. The site states fourteen of them, and the point is that each one is rare rather than another copy of the primitive layer: a Folder component, a Duration Picker, a Fluid Orb, Gravity Letters and an OTP Input are the five it leads with. Each component is one file. Installation runs through the shadcn CLI against the author's namespace, so a coding agent adds a component with a single command and any package manager. The repository swamimalode07/rare-ui carries 519 stars and 26 forks, and it was pushed on 2026-08-26. The site publishes an llms.txt and a robots.txt, and it runs on sponsorship: the footer sells slots and one of them is still marked "Your logo here".

Install with the shadcn CLI and the author's namespace, not by copying from the page: `npx shadcn@latest add swamimalode07/rare-ui/<name>`. One file arrives for each component. Read /llms.txt first for the component list. The site publishes one, which is rare at this size, so an agent does not have to render the gallery. Use it as a complement, not a base. Fourteen components cannot carry an application, and none of them is a button or a form. Take the Fluid Orb, the Gravity Letters or the Folder when a page needs one memorable moment.

Why it is here. Most shadcn registries restyle the same twenty primitives. This one ships fourteen things the primitive layer does not contain at all, under MIT, with a working CLI install.
