Raycast's code screenshot tool: paste code, get an image worth putting in a post
Tier C · WeakToolGeneratorray.so
ray.so turns a block of code into an image. Raycast makes it, and its own description is code images. It exists because a raw terminal screenshot reads badly in a post or a slide: the background is wrong, the padding is wrong and the syntax colours belong to somebody's editor theme. This produces a framed, padded, consistently highlighted image instead. The interaction is one step. Paste the code, choose the look, export the image. The site is small and client-rendered. A request for /llms.txt returns the same body as a nonsense path, so no agent file exists.
For an agent
Use it when code has to appear as an image: a post, a slide, a README header. A terminal screenshot reads badly in all three. Do not use it for code a reader must copy. An image cannot be selected, so a code block belongs in the document whenever the reader needs the text. Send a person. The tool is a client-rendered page with no API and a catch-all llms.txt, so an agent cannot generate the image here.
Why it is here. Code shared as a raw screenshot carries someone else's editor theme and no padding. One consistent frame makes the difference between a post that reads and one that does not.
