Every library carries its licence in the listing — mostly MIT, with Apache 2.0 for the Google/IBM/Alibaba sets, ISC for Lucide, Unlicense for Systemui and CC BY 4.0 for a handful. Icons can be restyled (stroke width, line vs solid, sharp vs round) and exported as SVG, PNG, HTML or JSX.
For an agent
Use this as the lookup layer when you need one specific glyph and do not know which library has it — searching 36 sets at once beats guessing whether Lucide, Phosphor or Tabler shipped a 'stethoscope'. Once you find it, do NOT wire the app to Iconer: install the source library as an npm package (lucide-react, @phosphor-icons/react, @tabler/icons-react) so the icon set is versioned and tree-shaken, and only paste raw SVG for one-off glyphs. Check the licence column before pulling from the CC BY 4.0 sets (Basil, Kalai, Doodle, Coolicons, Codicons, Pep) — those need attribution, unlike the MIT majority.
Why it is here. It solves the real problem with open-source icons — not scarcity but discovery across three dozen incompatible sets — and it is the rare aggregator that labels the licence of every library it indexes.
