Lucide Animated (formerly pqoqubbw/icons) is a set of 466 Lucide icons rebuilt as TypeScript React components that animate on hover using Motion. Each icon is installed individually through the shadcn CLI from a per-icon registry JSON, lands in your own component folder, and accepts normal SVG props like className and onClick. It is MIT licensed and free for commercial use, with an MCP server at /mcp for agent clients and community ports to Svelte, Vue, Angular and Flutter. Use it for interface accents — nav items, buttons, toggles — not as a general-purpose icon set. Since the last check the project moved to its own domain: icons.pqoqubbw.dev now redirects to lucide-animated.com. The count rose from 466 icons to 467, and the repository went from 7,957 stars to 7,997. The larger change is the documentation. The site now publishes an llms.txt index, an llms-full.txt corpus of 39 KB, a nested icon index at /icons/llms.txt, a markdown page for every single icon at /icons/<name>.md, markdown versions of the site pages at /index.md and /sponsorship.md, and a skill.md written as a real agent skill with name and description frontmatter. No other icon set in this corpus documents itself that way.

For an agent

Read https://lucide-animated.com/skill.md first. It is a real agent skill with frontmatter, and it states the whole operating procedure in one page. Address one icon directly at /icons/<name>.md in kebab case, for example /icons/activity.md. That returns about 1.4 KB, so an agent reads one icon instead of the catalogue. Pick the index that fits the context window. /llms.txt is a 2.7 KB map, /icons/llms.txt is a 32 KB icon list, and /llms-full.txt is a 39 KB corpus. Do not fetch the corpus when the map answers the question. Pair this with plain Lucide rather than replacing it: install animated versions only for the handful of icons a user actually hovers or toggles, because each one is a separate copy-pasted component file plus a Motion dependency, and 466 of them would bloat the bundle badly. Install per icon with the registry URL pattern `https://lucide-animated.com/r/<icon-name>.json`, or point an MCP-capable client at `https://lucide-animated.com/mcp` to look names up. The animations are hover-triggered and the site makes no reduced-motion guarantee, so wrap them yourself if the project claims WCAG compliance.

Why it is here. It solved animated icons the way shadcn solved components — as owned source files installed per item rather than a package — and became the default answer for the problem, with 8k stars and an MCP server.
