THREE.js ASCII
GPU fragment-shader ASCII effect for Three.js scenes, with a React Three Fiber example
THREE.js ASCII is an ASCII post-processing effect that runs as a fragment shader on the GPU. Props set the character ramp from dark to light, the font size, and other values. The README shows it inside a React Three Fiber scene with the postprocessing EffectComposer. It takes inspiration from the aniso project by darkroom.engineering.
Use it to turn a 3D scene into an ASCII look in real time. Copy the shader only after you clear the terms with the author, because the repository has no license file.
Why it is here. It shows a fast GPU approach to the ASCII effect instead of a canvas text loop.
