Company & Trust · 8 checks · 8 resources
The consent gate that must obtain a lawful choice without dark-patterning the visitor.
Before you ship
- 01Reject-all with equal prominence to accept-all — same size, same visual weight, same click depth
- 02Granular category toggles — necessary, functional, analytics, marketing, each described in one plain sentence
- 03No pre-ticked non-essential categories — consent is opt-in, not opt-out
- 04No tracking script fires before an affirmative choice — including analytics and tag managers
- 05Consent record kept — timestamp, categories chosen, and policy version, retrievable for an audit
- 06Persistent re-entry point — a footer link or floating control to change the choice later, at any time
- 07Re-prompt on material change — when new vendors or categories are added, not on a fixed nagging schedule
- 08Non-blocking layout — the banner does not obscure the content or the legal links behind it
