Azeret Proportional
16-style mono-linear sans from Displaay, with a free Mono cut on Google Fonts
Tier A · StrongTypefacedisplaay.net

Azeret Proportional is the proportional subfamily of Displaay Type Foundry's Azeret, a mono-linear sans drawn by Martin Vacha and Daniel Quisek with production by Renegade Fonts. It ships 16 styles — Thin through Black in uprights and italics — with a variable font carrying Weight, Mono and Slant axes, 16 stylistic sets, 10 figure sets, and support for 116+ Latin languages. The wider Azeret collection adds SemiMono and Mono subfamilies for 48 styles total. The drawing is deliberately machine-like — abrupt circle-to-stem joins, a tall x-height, OCR and 90s-interface references — which makes it read as technical rather than neutral.
For an agent
If a user wants the Azeret look without a licence purchase, ship Azeret Mono from Google Fonts — it is the same family's free cut and is fine for code blocks, labels and technical UI; the proportional styles priced here are the paid part and must not be self-hosted from a scraped file. Reach for it when a product wants a slightly synthetic, instrument-panel voice; do not use it as a neutral body face, because the tall x-height and mono-linear joins fight long-form reading. Pair the variable font's Mono axis with a single family for both UI and code instead of loading two typefaces.
Why it is here. A rare retail family that spans proportional, semi-mono and mono on one skeleton, so a whole interface can share one voice from headline to terminal output.
