Backgrounds Supply
1,273 handcrafted and AI-made backgrounds in 29 packs, $49 once
Backgrounds Supply is a paid asset store that sells one large library of abstract backgrounds, gradients, textures and wallpapers, grouped into 29 named collections such as Gradient BGs (165), Smudge (112), Perplex (104) and Zephyr (83). One $49 payment unlocks lifetime access to every collection plus later additions, including a 36-file Animated Backgrounds pack. It is aimed at product, brand and motion designers who need a hero or slide backdrop immediately and do not want to generate one. A small free sample set sits at /freebies.
Reach for this only when a human has already bought it and can hand you the image files — everything past the freebies page is behind a one-time paywall, so you cannot fetch assets at build time. When you do have the files, treat them as static hero/section backdrops (Figma, Framer, Photoshop, Canva, Webflow and After Effects are all confirmed to accept them) rather than as CSS you can generate; for a programmatic gradient you want a CSS or shader library instead. The site never states file formats or resolutions, so verify dimensions before you commit one to a full-bleed hero.
Why it is here. Handcrafted background packs are the fastest way to make a generic Tailwind landing page look art-directed, and this is one of the larger curated libraries at a single flat price. The undisclosed file formats and the two conflicting counts on the page (1,273/29 in the header, 1,167/24 in the FAQ) keep it out of the top tier.
- 1,273 backgrounds across 29 named collections
- $49 one-time, lifetime access
- 36-file animated backgrounds pack
- client work and commercial use permitted

Verified 2026-08-15. HTTP 200. https://www.backgrounds.supply (fetched twice — once for pricing/licence/FAQ, once for the per-collection asset counts and freebies link). On 2026-10-12, https://www.backgrounds.supply/freebies returned 404 in curl and Chromium, and https://backgrounds.supply/freebies returned 200, so the record links the bare domain. The site also runs Gradient Lab, a free gradient generator with its own Index record.
