Dessn connects to a GitHub repository, compiles it into a browsable design environment, and lets non-engineers build prototypes as live branches of the production code — no IDE and no localhost. It works with React web apps and imposes no constraint on the CSS or component library in use, and it explicitly never writes or pushes code back to your repo. This is a designer-facing tool, not something you invoke — its explicit pitch is 'no localhost, no MCP', so there is no CLI, no API, and no agent surface for you to drive. Where it touches your work is the output: a designer hands you a Dessn branch built from real repo components, so review it as a normal PR-shaped diff and expect the component imports to already be correct rather than reconstructing from a screenshot. Why it is here. It attacks the specific failure where Figma mocks ignore the components that actually exist, by making the repo itself the canvas — and it refuses write access to the repo, which is why design teams get approved to use it.
