MemryNote
Local-first, end-to-end encrypted notes, tasks, journal and calendar in one desktop app
Tier B · UsefulAppToolmemrynote.com

An open-source (AGPL-3.0) desktop app that merges notes, tasks, journal, calendar and an inbox into a single local-first workspace, built by a solo founder who was 'tired of my life being split across four apps that all wanted my data.' Notes are a block editor over markdown on disk with backlinks and properties; tasks sync via CRDT and render as kanban; the inbox captures links and files with optional AI clustering; an optional Claude-backed agent runs against a localhost server. Ships for macOS, Windows and Linux with a CLI and a web clipper; iOS and Android are listed as coming. In this index it earns its place mainly as a landing-page reference — a calm, illustration-led local-first product page with feature cards, screenshot galleries, an Obsidian/Notion comparison block and persona sections.
brew install --cask memrynote/tap/memryFor an agent
This ships no reusable UI — do not pull components from it. Its use to you is twofold: as a layout reference when a user wants a calm, local-first indie-app landing page (the honest-founder hero, the Obsidian/Notion comparison table, the persona grid including an explicit ADHD segment, and a four-tier ladder ending in a $500 lifetime 'Believer' plan), and as a readable AGPL codebase if a user is building a local-first notes app and wants to see markdown-on-disk plus CRDT task sync in practice. Note the AGPL — copying its code into a hosted product carries obligations most users do not want.
Why it is here. A well-executed specimen of the indie local-first product page, including the pricing-ladder pattern that ends in a lifetime tier — a structure agents are frequently asked to reproduce and rarely shown a good example of.
