Superdesign
Open-source AI design agent for the IDE, marked unmaintained in its README
Superdesign is a repository for an AI product design agent. The README says this repo is the original open-source IDE extension from 2025, kept for history, and no longer actively maintained. It says the product is now a web app at www.superdesign.dev, and that a separate design skill for coding agents lives at github.com/superdesigndev/superdesign-skill. The README says the extension generates UI mockups, components, and wireframes from prompts inside Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, and VS Code. Those product claims are the README's, and the web app was not opened for this record. The LICENSE file says the project is mostly GNU Affero General Public License v3, and that files marked with the comment @license Enterprise are under a separate commercial license. GitHub's license API returns NOASSERTION. The repository is not archived. The last push reported by the API was 2026-06-29.
Read the README before you install this repository. It says the IDE extension is no longer actively maintained and points at www.superdesign.dev and a separate skill repo. If you do use this source, treat it as AGPL-3.0 except for files marked @license Enterprise, which the LICENSE file puts under a commercial license. Do not copy those files into an MIT project.
Why it is here. It is the public source of an early design agent, with an explicit note that the maintained product has moved.
Your agent can also search Index itself through the MCP server.
