unDraw is an open-content illustration library by Katerina Limpitsouni, with roughly 1,760 flat-vector scenes (44 pages of 40 in the browser). Every illustration recolours to a single accent hex on the fly before download, which is why unDraw art blends into a product's brand instead of fighting it. The licence permits commercial and non-commercial use with no permission and no credit, but forbids redistribution as packs, building a competing library, automated scraping, and using the assets to train or fine-tune AI models. It is the default illustration set for empty states, 404 pages and onboarding in web products.

For an agent

This is the illustration set to reach for whenever a screen needs a friendly graphic and the brand has one accent colour — no attribution string to thread through the footer, and inline SVG means it recolours with `currentColor` or a CSS variable once you drop it in. There is an undocumented public endpoint, `https://undraw.co/api/search?q=<term>`, returning 40 results per page as JSON with a direct `https://cdn.undraw.co/illustration/<slug>.svg` URL — useful for finding the right slug, but the licence explicitly forbids automated bulk downloading and forbids using the assets to train or fine-tune AI models, so use it to look up one asset, never to mirror the library. Prefer it over Storyset when you do not want an attribution obligation; prefer Storyset when you need animation.

Why it is here. The recolour-to-your-brand step is what separates unDraw from every other free illustration pack — it is the only one that reliably stops looking like a stock illustration.
