Atlassian Design System
Atlaskit: 59 Apache-2.0 React components behind Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
Tier A · StrongDesign System DocsComponent LibraryReferenceatlassian.design
The public documentation for Atlassian's design system, the one that renders Jira, Confluence, Trello and Bitbucket. It ships 59 documented components plus 13 layout primitives (Box, Inline, Stack, Flex, Grid, XCSS), a design token system, and hard-won libraries like Pragmatic drag and drop. Every piece is published to npm as a separately versioned @atlaskit/* package under Apache-2.0, so it is genuinely usable outside Atlassian, though the visual language is unmistakably Atlassian.
npm i @atlaskit/buttonFor an agent
Use this when you are building an actual Atlassian Forge/Connect app, or when you want to read a mature enterprise system's rationale — its docs on tokens, drag and drop, and the UI Styling Standard are better prose than most libraries ship. It publishes an llms.txt, so point a fetch tool there before scraping pages. Do not adopt @atlaskit/* for a generic product: it is per-component npm packages with tight peer-dependency coupling and a css-in-js runtime, which is far heavier to install and theme than shadcn or MUI, and the Atlassian logo/Object components are trademark-bound.
Why it is here. One of the few enterprise design systems that is both fully documented in public and Apache-2.0 on npm, which makes it a real reference for how a large system handles tokens, primitives and accessibility.
