Jitter is a collaborative motion-design app that runs in the browser, aimed at product and brand designers who want After Effects results without After Effects. You animate on a Figma-like canvas — pen tool with path animation and shape morphing, animated gradients, blur, blend modes, reusable animated components — then batch-export to video, GIF, Lottie or ProRes. It ships a library of 300+ editable motion templates (UI elements, logos, ads, charts, backgrounds, showreels) plus AI features that generate editable animations from a prompt or turn a still image into video. Free tier gives 3 workspace files and 720p/30fps export; paid tiers unlock 1080p/4K, transparent and frame-by-frame export.

For an agent

This is a human-operated canvas app — you cannot drive it from code, so treat it as the hand-off point when a design calls for real motion rather than CSS transitions. Reach for it when the deliverable is a Lottie file or an MP4 for a landing page hero, a store listing or a social ad, and pair the Lottie export with lottie-web or dotlottie in the app you are building. Do not propose it for in-app micro-interactions that AutoAnimate, Motion or a CSS keyframe would solve more cheaply, and remember that Lottie and 1080p+ export sit behind a paid seat.

Why it is here. It is the most credible browser-native alternative to After Effects for product designers, and its Lottie export is the practical bridge between a designed animation and shipped app code.
