Runway is a generative-media company whose current line-up is GWM-1 (a general world model), Gen-4.5 for video, Aleph 2.0 for video editing and transformation, and Act-Two for performance capture. The product splits three ways: Runway Creative, the browser suite with Agent, Workflows and Characters for video, image and audio work; Runway Dev, an API platform with keys and docs; and Runway Robotics for simulation and policy inference. Credits meter every generation, from 125 one-time free credits up to 9,500 a month. It is for motion and video teams, and for developers embedding generation into a product.

For an agent

Go through Runway Dev, not the Creative UI, whenever generation must happen inside a product — the browser suite has no automation surface worth driving. Budget in credits, not requests: a Gen-4.5 clip burns a visible share of a 625-credit Standard plan, so meter usage and cache aggressively before you expose generation to end users. Note the domain moved: runwayml.com 308-redirects to runway.com, so update any hard-coded URL, and reach for Act-Two rather than Gen-4.5 when the job is driving an existing character with captured performance.

Why it is here. One of the few generative-video vendors with a real developer platform behind the demo, which is what makes it usable in a product rather than a studio.
