The Rijksmuseum publishes its collection as data, not only as a website. Rijksmuseum Data Services states extensive descriptions of more than half a million art-historical objects, hundreds of thousands of object photographs and the complete library catalogue, offered to developers, researchers and enthusiasts under a published Information and Data Policy. The portal carries Docs, Tutorials, a Policy page and an About page. For a designer the value is the imagery: high-resolution photography of paintings, prints, drawings, furniture, textiles and objects across several centuries, with catalogue metadata attached to each one. One thing changed. The Rijksstudio URL, which is how most people know this collection, now redirects to /en/collection. Rijksstudio was the feature that let a visitor build and share a personal set from the collection. The path still answers, and it lands on the collection rather than on a page of its own.

Start at data.rijksmuseum.nl, not at the museum website. That portal is the documented route to the collection, and it carries Docs, Tutorials and the data policy in one place. Do not link to /en/rijksstudio as a destination. It still answers 200 but it redirects to /en/collection, so name the collection URL instead and avoid sending a reader through a redirect. Read the data policy before you reuse an image. The museum publishes one and the reuse terms per object are not uniform, so an object being visible is not the same as an object being free to use. Reach for this for historical imagery, texture and colour rather than for anything about interfaces. Half a million catalogued objects with photography is a source, not a design reference.

Why it is here. Very few museums publish their catalogue as a documented data service with tutorials beside it. That turns half a million objects from a website you browse into a source you can query.
