Kibo UI is a custom shadcn/ui registry of composable, accessible components that fill the gaps in the base library — Gantt charts, Kanban boards, a rich-text editor, image cropping, contribution graphs, dropzones, QR codes, code sandboxes, and video reels among them. It is built on React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, and Lucide, installs with `npx kibo-ui add <name>` straight into your existing components directory, and is MIT-licensed and free forever. Beyond the 41 registry items it publishes 28 page-block families (hero, pricing, changelog, case study, roadmap, codebase) and 1,101 copy-ready patterns across 53 shadcn primitives.

Reach for Kibo the moment a shadcn/ui project needs something shadcn does not ship — Gantt, Kanban, contribution graph, image crop, rich-text editor, code sandbox. It is the same Radix + Tailwind + CSS-variable foundation, so it drops into an existing shadcn components directory without a second primitive layer, unlike Untitled UI. Install by exact registry name from https://www.kibo-ui.com/r/registry.json (40 registry:ui items plus a typography registry:style) rather than guessing; and be aware the heavier items (gantt, editor, sandbox, kanban) pull real client-side dependencies and drag/drop state, so keep them out of server components and off critical first-paint paths.

Why it is here. The best-scoped complement to shadcn/ui: it deliberately builds only the complex components everyone else stops short of, and stays installable through the same registry mechanism.
