Open CoDesign is an MIT-licensed local-first desktop app that takes a prompt and returns a polished prototype, slide deck, marketing asset or document, exporting to HTML, PDF, PPTX, ZIP and Markdown. It is model-agnostic by design: bring your own key for Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, Ollama, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or sign in with a ChatGPT Plus/Pro subscription. Version 0.2.0 added agentic design with workspace-backed sessions and local tools. It runs on macOS 12+, Windows 10+ and Linux (glibc 2.31+), and is for people who want a Claude Design alternative that keeps files and model choice on their own machine.

For an agent

Reach for this over Open Design only when the deciding factor is model freedom — it is the one of the two that accepts a ChatGPT Plus/Pro sign-in and any OpenAI-compatible or local Ollama endpoint, so it is the choice when there is no Anthropic key or when everything must run offline. It is also much earlier: at v0.2.0 it has no plugin or template catalog, so you supply the visual direction yourself in the prompt and should not expect brand consistency across sessions. For anything needing a repeatable design system or motion output, use Open Design or Huashu Design instead.

Why it is here. It is the most model-agnostic of the open Claude Design alternatives, and the only one that lets a plain ChatGPT subscription stand in for an API key.
