OpenReel Video is an open-source, fully client-side video editor that runs in the browser using WebCodecs for hardware decode/encode and WebGPU for compositing. It offers a multi-track timeline, keyframe animation, colour grading with LUTs, audio mixing and effects, transitions, screen recording, text animations, and export to MP4, WebM, and ProRes up to 4K. Media never leaves the machine, so it also works offline. It is positioned as an open CapCut alternative for people who need edits done without an account or an upload.
